Nick Kenny is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Orthopaedics to The University of Manchester.
Nick has been Consulting at The Alexandra Hospital for 24 years and was Chairman of The Alexandra Hospital Medical Advisory Committee (until Dec 2019). This role allows him, in conjunction with other clinicians and the hospital management, to maintain and improve excellent clinical standards within the hospital. He is the immediate past Clinical Director of The Directorate of Orthopaedics at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
His specific Orthopaedic interests are the management of upper and lower limb soft tissue injuries and fractures, osteoarthritis of the hip and knee and arthroscopic and ligament reconstructive surgery of the knee.
It is very satisfying helping to return an athlete to their pre-injury performance following an injury or to return an individual with disabling osteoarthritis to normal function; he has a particular interest in looking after recreational athletes.

Nick works closely with two senior anaesthetists who place a high degree of priority on post-operative pain control.
All new referrals can be seen within two working days. Urgent referrals can usually be seen on the same day, including weekends, by special arrangement.
Nick attends Trauma courses in Davos, Switzerland each winter to learn the most up-to-date techniques in trauma care. He regularly attends national and international courses to continue his professional development (see CV)
Nick trained in the North West of England and has had the additional privilege of training overseas in major Trauma Centres in Essen and Stuttgart, Germany and British Columbia Children's Hospital, Vancouver Canada.
Nick's recreational interests include ultra marathons, running, tennis, skiing and mountain walking in the summer both in The European Alps and The UK.
