About Nick > Swiss Alpine Marathon - July 2012

The Swiss Alpine Marathon in Davos is more than just a race. The mountain marathon with a distance of 42 km, an overall climb of 1720m and a descent of 1550m goes through high alpine terrain and leads from Davos to Bergün on Keschhütte and Sertig back to Davos. It starts at an altitude of 1300m (approximately the same as the top of Ben Nivis)

It's the highest high altitude marathon in Europe – a jewel in the alpine crown. The ascent and descent, combined with the high altitude and the partially rough mountain track, make the K42 one of the most challenging mountain races.

Nick completed the gruelling course in a time of 6 hours, 17 minutes and 17 seconds. View his certificate online.

Nick is now in training for 2013, this time entering the K78 (79.4km) version of the Alpine Marathon.
