I operate exclusively at The Alexandra Hospital.

I have been the Orthopaedic Medical Advisory Committee representative member of The Alexandra Hospital since 1999. The position involves attendance at bimonthly Clinical Governance meetings relating to patient care within the hospital.

CLINICAL PRACTICE

His specific Orthopaedic interests are the management of upper and lower limb soft tissue injuries and fractures, osteoarthritis of the hip and knee and arthroscopic and ligament reconstructive surgery of the knee.

MEDICOLEGAL PRACTICE

I receive instructions for personal injury reports and assist the NHS Litigation Authority to defend high value negligence claims against the NHS.

CHARNLEY PRIZE.1990. £75 North West Orthopaedic Club, Registrars prize.

ICI RESEARCH REGISTRAR'S PRIZE.1993. £250.

BOA WISHBONE TRUST FUND GRANT. 1991. £3000. For research into the histomorphometry of acetabular bone and future demarcation of the socket in cemented joint arthroplasty.

AO FELLOWSHIP. 1993. Grant of CHF 3,500 to live and work at two polytrauma centres at Essen and Stuttgart, Western Germany for a 9 week period in May 1994.

DICKINSON TRUST. 1995. £5,000 financial support to live and work as a Fellow in Paediatric Orthopaedics at British Columbia Children's Hospital, Vancouver Canada.

ZIMMER TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP. 1995. £2,500 financial support to live and work as a Fellow in Paediatric Orthopaedics at British Columbia Children's Hospital, Vancouver Canada.

ETHICON FOUNDATION FUND. 1995. £400 financial support to live and work as a Fellow in Paediatric Orthopaedics at British Columbia Children's Hospital, Vancouver Canada.

SOCIAL INTERESTS

I am a keen skier and hill walker. In 1992 I went on a three week expedition to the Nepalese Himalaya reaching Annapurna base camp.

I walked the three peaks ( Ben Nevis, Hellvelyn and Snowdon ) in 2010 for charity.

I spend my holidays almost exclusively in the English Lake District and The Swiss Alps.

I am currently training for various long distance Alpine Marathons including the Swiss Alpine Marathon. The marathon is a high altitude endurance marathon in the Swiss Alps.
